1. Introduction

Nexustech ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use the BabyCheck mobile application.

2. Data Collection and Storage

Local Storage: BabyCheck is designed with privacy in mind. Your personal scan history, favorites, and preferences are stored locally on your device. We do not store this personal data on our servers.

3. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party services to improve our application and provide essential features:

  • Analytics (Mixpanel): We use Mixpanel to understand how users interact with our app to improve the user experience. This data is anonymized.
  • Crash Reporting (Firebase Crashlytics): We use Google Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and fix technical issues.
  • Product Data (OpenFoodFacts): When you scan a barcode, we query the OpenFoodFacts database to retrieve product information. Product data comes from Open Food Facts and Open Beauty Facts and is made available under the Open Database License (ODbL).
  • AI Analysis (Google Gemini & OpenAI): Product data is sent to these AI providers to generate safety analysis. No personal user data is shared with them.
  • Payments (RevenueCat): We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions and in-app purchases. Payment processing is handled directly by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store).

4. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data. However, please note that no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

5. Your Rights (GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to access, rectify, or erase your personal data. Since most data is stored locally on your device, you can manage it directly within the app (e.g., clearing history).

6. The babycheck.app Website

Email list: If you sign up on the website (app news, beta access, recall alerts), your email address, your language and the topics you chose are stored in our Firebase database (Google Cloud, region europe-west1), with the date of your consent, for the sole purpose of sending you the emails you asked for. Every email will contain an unsubscribe link, and you can ask for deletion at any time at the contact address below.

Audience measurement: The website uses Google Analytics and Vercel Web Analytics to measure visits and clicks on the download buttons. When you arrive from a social network link, the name of the network is kept for the duration of your visit to attribute the download.

Product recall check: The lot number you enter on the recalls page is sent to RappelConso, the French government open data service (data.economie.gouv.fr) to look up official recalls. It is not stored by us.
